Timber Praha is this year's Environmental Project of the Year in the "Best of Realty 2024"
UBM Development Czechia has received the "Environmental Project of the Year" award for the Timber Praha residential project in the 26th edition of the prestigious "Best of Realty - Best of Real Estate" competition. Timber Praha, which represents the first multi-storey apartment buildings made of timber in the capital city, has thus become the most environmentally friendly project in the Czech Republic for 2024. Timber Praha is located in the Prague-Reporyje district and is part of the Arcus City residential complex. Representatives of the company received the domestic "real estate Oscar" at a gala dinner on Tuesday 12 November in Forum Karlín. The developer also won the 3rd place for the project Astrid Garden in the category "Residential projects of larger scale."
The awards in the "Best of Realty" competition, organized by the Czech Association for Real Estate Market Development (ARTN), were decided by a twelve-member expert jury. In addition to representatives of ARTN, the jury also includes personalities from professional associations, banks, urban planners, architects, market analysts and real estate brokers. Tomáš Drtina, Vice President of ARTN and Chairman of the Jury, commented on the Environmental Project of the Year title for Timber Praha: "The jury awarded the project for its pioneering in the construction of multi-storey residential new buildings in the Czech Republic, a number of energy-saving features and technologies ensuring a quality indoor environment and lower burden on the surrounding area." Commenting on Astrid Garden's 3rd place in the "Large Scale Residential Projects" category, he added: "The Astrid Garden project was awarded by the jury for the interesting architectural design of the new building, which includes an intimate courtyard with greenery, and the sensitive setting of this residential area in the original development."
The decisive criteria for judging the projects nominated for the competition are urban and architectural design, quality of implementation, contribution to the locality and commercial success. In recent years, the criterion of sustainability has also become more and more important, which UBM Development Czechia emphasizes in the implementation of all its projects and fulfills it with a corporate strategy guided by the motto "green. smart. and more."
